08/09/2006 Seattle, WA — Practice Partner, a leader in the development of electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software, today announced the release of Total Practice Partner Version 9.1. Total Practice Partner is a fully integrated EHR and practice management package that includes Practice Partner Patient Records, Order Entry, Medical Billing, and Appointment Scheduler.
Version 9.1 maintains the close integration between the applications. Total Practice Partner runs on a single database, enabling integration features such as common registration, shared internal messaging, electronic encounter form generation, and other information sharing between the applications.
Total Practice Partner 9.1 also introduces a number of features in the individual applications. New and enhanced features in Practice Partner Patient Records include:
- SureScripts Connectivity. Patient Records now connects to the SureScripts Electronic Prescribing Network™. Providers can send prescriptions to retail pharmacies electronically and also manage renewal requests and authorizations in just seconds.
- Secure Physician and Consultant Messaging. Using the Web View™ patient portal service, providers can send secure messages to physicians and consultants.
- New Clinical Elements Chart Section. Providers can quickly record—as discrete data—any desired clinical data that can then be used for reporting or quality improvement tracking purposes.
- New Prenatal Module. This new chart section facilitates comprehensive perinatal care documentation and includes a sophisticated prenatal visit flow chart.
- Built-In Fax Server Integration. Built-in integration with fax server software makes it even easier to fax charts, progress notes, and prescriptions from the EHR.
- Enhanced Allergy, Vital Signs, Problem List, and Progress Note Features
New features in Practice Partner Medical Billing 9.1 include:
- Enhanced Batch Payment Posting. Billing clerks can post insurance payments to all accounts from a single screen and also create detailed reports of posting activity.
- New Sliding Fee Schedule Features. Version 9.1 automatically adjusts patient fees based on family income and size.
- New Reports. Medical Billing 9.1 includes a new RVU Analysis Report and Operator Activity Report.
- Community Health Center Features. New capabilities designed for Community Health Centers include sliding fee schedules, billing for dental claims, UDS reporting, and more.
New features in Practice Partner Appointment Scheduler 9.1 include:
- Electronic Eligibility Checking. Appointment Scheduler offers real-time, HIPAA-compliant access to eligibility information from hundreds of payers nationwide.
- Group Scheduling Version 9.1 makes it easy to define groups of patients and schedule them for an appointment (such as a group patient education session).
- Referring Sources Report.
The Certification Commission for Healthcare IT recently announced that Patient Records Version 9.1 is a CCHIT Certified Ambulatory EHR for 2006. “Version 9.1 reflects our core mission of helping physician practices increase productivity and improve quality of care,” said Andrew G. Ury, M.D., CEO of Practice Partner. “Our continued focus is to add features and enhancements that further these two goals.”
